The Role

As the Training and Development Officer, you will lead the creation, delivery and evaluation of training and development initiatives across the organisation. You will ensure all programmes align with business goals, compliance standards and workforce capability needs.

Working with the support of a Training Administrator, you will coordinate training activities efficiently while promoting a strong culture of continuous improvement and professional development. Your work will help strengthen employee skills and enhance performance through targeted, impactful learning interventions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and implementing training strategies that support organisational objectives
  • Delivering blended learning solutions, including classroom, hands-on and digital training
  • Ensuring compliance with competency and regulatory requirements
  • Evaluating training effectiveness and adapting programmes accordingly
  • Supporting managers in identifying development needs and workforce capability gaps
  • Managing training records and Learning Management Systems (LMS)
  • Championing a positive learning culture across all departments

About You

To be considered for this position, you will need:

  • A minimum of HND/HNC or equivalent in a relevant discipline (e.g. Mechanical or Electrical Level 3, NEBOSH/Level 3 Health & Safety, or a related field)
    AND
  • A recognised Train the Trainer certificate
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a training and development role, ideally within a manufacturing or engineering environment
  • Strong knowledge of competency frameworks, compliance standards, and training evaluation methodologies
  • Experience designing and delivering blended learning programmes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience using LMS platforms and training systems
  • A full, valid driving licence
