Contract Mechanical Design Engineer

Role: Mechanical Design Engineer
Location: Stratford-upon-Avon – Hybrid/Remote
Contract Length: 3 Months +
Start Date: ASAP
Rate: £40.00 to £50.00 per hour – Outside IR35
 
We are currently seeking an experienced Contract Mechanical Design Engineer to support the development of high-quality engineered products used within a safety critical environment.
 
This role will focus on the design and development of High Pressure Die Cast (HPDC) components, working closely with a small cross-functional team to deliver robust, manufacturable designs.
 
Key Responsibilities
 

• Mechanical design and development of components and assemblies
• Design of High Pressure Die Cast (HPDC) products
• Producing detailed 3D models and technical drawings using Autodesk Inventor
• Ensuring designs meet relevant industry standards and compliance requirements
• Designing for hazardous area environments, considering certification requirements

 
Required Experience
 

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer
• Strong experience designing HPDC components
• Proficiency with Autodesk Inventor
• Experience working with hazardous area standards such as ATEX, IECEx, CEC, or NEC is highly desirable
• Strong understanding of manufacturability and engineering best practices
