Job Description:
To mechanically inspect Piece Part, Sub Assembly or Final Assembly produced by the Company or its Sub-Contractors and Suppliers to AS9100 and EASA Part 21. Support the Company’s calibration system and maintain the supporting records.
Main Duties/Responsibilities:
- Responsible for mechanical inspection of all Company Products, using a wide range of hand measuring tools and other inspection equipment including the CMM.
- Nominated DQR for product release of specific customer products
- Responsible for verification of supplier FAIRs.
- Responsible for compiling FAIRs to AS9102 for internal products.
- Responsible for co-ordinating mechanical & electrical calibration with internal customers.
- Responsible for developing GRIPs – Goods Inwards Inspection Plans and coordinating with the supplier.
- Produce accurate and detailed written NCRs on non-conforming product for either internal or external distribution.
- Using Microsoft Office to establish and maintain the supporting records for the company’s calibration system.
- Responsible for communicating with all internal departments either by written reports or verbally.
- Take responsibility for flagging quality control non-conformances to reduce waste.
- Undertake the mechanical inspection of products in line with the specified Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).
- Proven experience of working in a Quality Mechanical Inspector role.
- Significant previous experience of working in a manufacturing environment using mechanical measuring equipment. – verniers, calipers, micrometers etc.
- Familiar with FAIR’s to AS9102 is essential.
- Proven ability to use a wide range of hand measuring tools and other inspection equipment including a CNC CMM.
- Previous experience of producing accurate and detailed comprehensive written reports on non-conforming product.
- Microsoft Office skills, including the creation of Excel spreadsheets.
- Able to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
