Automation Engineer Location: Near Dunball / Wembdon / Bridgwater
We are currently looking for an Automation Engineer to join a global manufacturer of complex mechanical equipment, specialising in the design and manufacture of customisable materials for highly regulated industries. This is a key new position created to support a new production line and strengthen on-site automation capability across the site.
With major new projects underway and long-term growth planned, this role offers excellent visibility, technical influence, and progression opportunities.
Essential Requirements / Experience: · Strong PLC programming and controls experience (Siemens TIA Portal & Allen Bradley essential)
· Background in automation, mechatronics, controls, or related engineering
· Ability to deliver automation or controls projects from concept to completion
· Experience with data monitoring / OEE systems
· Confident troubleshooting and supporting automated production equipment
· Proactive mindset and willingness to lead future automation improvements
Salary and Benefits: · Up to £45,000 per annum

The Role: · Support automation and controls for a brand-new production line
· Lead PLC programming, troubleshooting, and optimisation
· Identify automation opportunities and help reduce reliance on external partners
· Use data/OEE systems to drive performance improvements
· Contribute to automation strategy and support long-term site development
· Deliver automation projects with autonomy and technical ownership
