Owen Daniels are supporting a well-established and growing manufacturing business, is seeking an experienced Quality Inspector to join their quality team. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented individual with a strong manufacturing background and experience interpreting engineering drawings and GD&T.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring products meet customer specifications and internal quality standards, working closely with production and engineering teams to maintain the highest levels of quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out first-off, in-process and final inspection of manufactured components.
  • Inspect parts using a range of manual measuring equipment including verniers, micrometers, height gauges and gauges.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, specifications and quality documentation.
  • Apply Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) principles during inspection activities.
  • Record inspection results and maintain accurate quality documentation.
  • Identify and report non-conformances, supporting root cause investigations and corrective actions.
  • Work closely with production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues.
  • Ensure compliance with company quality procedures and relevant industry standards.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across the manufacturing process.
Requirements
  • Previous experience working as a Quality Inspector within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Strong understanding and practical application of GD&T.
  • Ability to confidently read and interpret complex engineering drawings.
  • Experience using a variety of manual inspection and measuring equipment.
  • Good attention to detail with a methodical approach to inspection.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Competent with inspection records and quality documentation.
Desirable Skills
  • Experience inspecting welded fabrications or welded assemblies would be advantageous but is not essential.
  • Knowledge of welding processes and weld inspection would be beneficial.
  • Experience with CMM equipment or programming would be an advantage.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality systems.
