Up to £30 per hour PAYE / £40 per hour Umbrella

4 on 4 off – rotating days & nights

Electrical Maintenance Engineer – Job Description We are looking for experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineers to join a major engineering and manufacturing site in Birmingham, specialising in the production of high-quality products for a range of specialist industries.

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance, fault finding, repairs and preventative maintenance.
• Diagnose faults across electrical and mechanical systems on industrial machinery, including furnaces, cranes and CNC machines.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings and carry out electrical fault finding.
• Monitor machinery performance and identify recurring faults and improvements.
• Work closely with production teams to respond to breakdowns and minimise downtime.

Electrical Maintenance Engineer – Essential Skills / Experience / Qualifications

• Proven experience carrying out PPM and reactive maintenance within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong electrical maintenance and fault-finding experience.
• Confident reading electrical drawings – essential.
• PLC fault finding / ladder logic experience desirable.
• High Voltage experience desirable.
• ONC, HNC or City & Guilds qualification advantageous.
• Comfortable working in an industrial environment, including working at heights and in confined spaces.
• Heavy engineering experience would be advantageous but is not essential.

Contract Details

• 6-month contract
• Up to £30 per hour PAYE / £40 per hour Umbrella
• 4 on 4 off rotating days and nights.
• 7am–7pm days / 7pm–7am nights.
• Practical interview involving electrical drawing interpretation.
