The OpportunityAre you an experienced CNC Machinist looking for your next challenge within a precision engineering environment?
We’re recruiting for a well-established aerospace engineering business specialising in the manufacture of complex, high-precision components and assemblies. With a broad range of advanced manufacturing capabilities and a strong reputation for quality, this is an excellent opportunity to join a skilled team working on technically challenging projects.

Whether your background is in aerospace, motorsport, defence, automotive or another precision engineering industry, we want to hear from you!

The Role
This is a hands-on CNC machining position, combining setting, operating and programme editing to manufacture high-quality precision components.
Approximately 90% of your time will be spent setting and operating CNC milling machines, with the remainder focused on programme editing, proving out programmes and supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) activities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Setting, operating and programming 3-axis, 4-axis and 5-axis CNC milling machines.
  • Editing and proving out existing CNC programmes to support new product introduction.
  • Manufacturing both repeat production parts and new, complex components.
  • Interpreting engineering drawings, including complex geometrical dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Selecting appropriate cutting tools, machining strategies, speeds and feeds.
  • Machining a range of materials, including challenging and specialist alloys.
  • Carrying out in-process inspections using precision measuring equipment, including micrometres and gauges.
  • Maintaining high standards of quality, accuracy and efficiency throughout the manufacturing process.
What We're Looking For
We're keen to speak with experienced CNC Machinists who take pride in their work and are passionate about precision engineering.

You'll ideally have:
  • Experience setting and operating CNC milling machines with 3-axis capability or above.
  • Experience with 5-axis machining would be advantageous.
  • The ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and GD&T.
  • Knowledge of tooling selection, cutting strategies and machining parameters.
  • Experience machining components within a precision or highly regulated industry, such as aerospace, motorsport, defence, automotive or rail.
  • Experience with Fanuc or Haas controls would be beneficial, although other control systems, such as Heidenhain, will be considered.
  • A proactive attitude, strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn and develop.
We're looking for someone who enjoys being on the shop floor, setting and operating machines, with the ability to edit and prove out programmes as required.

What's on Offer?
  • Competitive salary
  • Choice of day shifts or a rotating double-day shift pattern.
  • 25 days' annual leave plus bank holidays.
  • Pension contributions.
  • BHSF healthcare scheme.
  • The opportunity to work with advanced CNC machining technology and complex, high-precision components.
  • A supportive environment where you can continue developing your technical skills and experience.
