Make UK have released an update that: UK MANUFACTURING IS IN THE TOP 8 GLOBALLY!    

The UK's manufacturing sector has reached 8th position in global rankings, surpassing France.

Key Highlights

• 2022 data reveals the UK's manufacturing output at £224bn.
• The manufacturing sector accounted for 9.4% of total UK economic output and 8% of employment.
• Aerospace & Transport witnessed a 27.9% surge in exports.
• Regionally, the North West emerges as the manufacturing powerhouse, contributing £28.2bn in output.
• Wales boasts the highest manufacturing share, forming 17.3% of its economy.

The food and drink sector is the UK’s biggest exporter, sending 12.4% of its goods abroad in 2022. The sector expanded its exports by almost a quarter (23%) compared to 2021.
