Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Production Planner to join a manufacturing business operating in a fast-paced, demand-driven environment. This role is responsible for developing and managing robust production plans that align capacity, materials, and resources to meet customer demand, delivery targets, and operational efficiency goals.

As a senior member of the planning function, you will play a key role in improving planning processes, supporting cross-functional teams, and driving continuous improvement across the supply chain and production operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain detailed production schedules to meet customer demand, service levels, and inventory targets.
  • Balance capacity, labour, and material availability to optimise production flow and minimise disruption.
  • Work closely with procurement, manufacturing, engineering, and logistics teams to ensure effective execution of plans.
  • Monitor production performance, identify risks or constraints, and proactively implement mitigation plans.
  • Support S&OP / MPS activities and contribute to demand and capacity planning discussions.
  • Analyse planning data and KPIs to drive improvements in efficiency, delivery performance, and inventory control.
  • Lead or support continuous improvement initiatives across planning and scheduling processes.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in a production planning or manufacturing planning role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of MRP / ERP systems and planning methodologies.
  • Ability to manage complex schedules and multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders.
