Location: Site-based / UK
Salary: £50,000 – £60,000 DOE + benefits

About the Role

We are looking for a proactive, solutions-focused Project Manager to take ownership of the full lifecycle delivery of mechanical projects within the water industry. This is a hands-on, site-based role, working closely with mechanical fitters, supervisors, subcontractors, and clients to deliver projects safely, efficiently, and commercially.

Alongside this, we are also open to applications from Project Engineers who are ready to step up or who prefer a more technically focused role while still managing smaller projects independently.

Whether you join as a Project Manager or Project Engineer, you’ll play a key role in taking projects from conception through to completion, supporting design, procurement, cost control, and site delivery, while upholding the highest standards of health, safety, and quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and deliver mechanical engineering projects from tender through to handover
  • Provide technical and commercial input to ensure efficient project delivery
  • Prepare and review project documentation, including RAMS, programmes, and risk registers
  • Supervise and support site teams, including mechanical fitters and subcontractors
  • Assist with or lead design reviews and procurement of materials and services
  • Prepare tenders, quotations, and project proposals
  • Manage project scope, budgets, schedules, and client communications
  • Ensure full compliance with H&S regulations, including CDM requirements
  • Conduct site inspections and promote continuous HSE improvements
  • Prepare handover documentation, including O&M manuals and H&S files

About You

  • Mechanical Engineering qualification (essential)
  • Experience delivering mechanical or engineering projects, ideally within the water industry
  • Background in pumps, fabrication, steelwork, or mechanical engineering (preferred)
  • Strong site-based experience with a safety-first mindset
  • Able to lead, motivate, and communicate effectively with site teams and clients
  • Commercially aware with good problem-solving skills
  • Full UK driving licence (essential)

Project Engineers with strong technical and site experience who are keen to develop their project management responsibilities are strongly encouraged to apply.
