Are you an experienced Service Manager with a strong engineering background, ready to lead and develop a dedicated team?



We are looking for a proactive and hands-on Service Manager to take full responsibility for our client’s Service Department, supporting a wide range of agricultural and process industry customers across the UK.

This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key leadership role, driving efficiency, profitability, and customer satisfaction within a well-established engineering business.



Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, manage, and support a team of Refrigeration Service Engineers and administrative staff.
  • Plan, schedule, and allocate all service, maintenance, installation, and breakdown work.
  • Manage the service rota and call-out system to ensure excellent customer coverage.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term customer relationships.
  • Monitor department performance, control costs, and manage profitability.
  • Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety, FGas regulations, and company procedures.
  • Recruit, train, and develop team members to achieve high performance.
  • Identify new service opportunities and contribute to business growth.
  • Drive continuous improvement in processes and customer service standards.

What We're Looking For:

  • Proven experience successfully managing a service department, ideally within refrigeration, HVAC, or a related engineering field.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate a team.
  • A technical understanding of refrigeration, HVAC, or dairy processing systems; a hands-on engineering background is highly desirable.
  • Commercial acumen with experience managing budgets, costs, and profitability.
  • Exceptional communication and customer relationship skills.
  • A full UK driving licence is essential.
