Senior Planner – 3-Month Contract

Contract Type: Temporary (3 months) – Immediate Start

We’re currently seeking a Senior Planner to join our client, a leading manufacturing organisation within the aerospace sector, on a 3-month interim basis.

This role will play a key part in leading the Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP) process, ensuring production plans and supply schedules are effectively aligned to meet customer demand, capacity, and sales targets.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced planner looking for an immediate start, with the potential for this to become a permanent opportunity.

Job Description
  • Lead the SIOP process for a defined value stream, driving site-level review and continuous improvement.
  • Develop, manage and communicate production plans and supply schedules in line with customer demand and business targets.
  • Co-own demand planning and order book management with the Operations Team.
  • Maintain and monitor planning parameters and master data to ensure accuracy and alignment with inventory goals.
  • Analyse and report on plan adherence, trends, and forecasts, driving resolution of any constraints or schedule conflicts.
  • Liaise with internal and external customers to ensure alignment on supply and delivery performance.

Experience & Qualifications
  • Degree-qualified or equivalent professional certification / extensive relevant experience (Engineering background preferred).
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in production and supply chain planning within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven success in end-to-end collaborative planning, forecasting and replenishment.
  • Strong knowledge of MRP/ERP systems, including system implementation experience.
  • Previous experience in aerospace or automotive manufacturing is essential.
  • Experience leading SIOP processes and reviews.
  • Desirable: Experience with production simulation modelling.
 
Due to the nature of the business, candidates must also meet the requirements to work on UK ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) controlled projects. This means applicants must hold the appropriate UK nationality or security clearance to be eligible to work on restricted defence-related programmes.
