An established MAnufacturing organisation is seeking an experienced Senior Finance Officer to support the Financial Controller and lead day-to-day finance operations across ledgers, cashflow, treasury and payroll.

This is a hands-on role suited to a proactive finance professional who enjoys managing people, improving processes and ensuring accurate, compliant financial reporting.

The Role Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will take ownership of core transactional finance activities and balance sheet integrity, while managing and developing junior members of the finance team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams and ledgers
  • Producing cashflow forecasts and supporting working capital management
  • Controlling weekly supplier and expense payment runs
  • Overseeing credit control and timely cash collection
  • Preparing and posting month-end accruals, prepayments and journals
  • Completing all balance sheet reconciliations
  • Processing payroll, including salaries and deductions, working with an external payroll provider
  • Training, mentoring and developing finance team members
Essential experience and skills:
  • Proven experience in a Financial Accountant or similar senior finance role
  • Strong knowledge of accounting and financial principles
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving ability
  • Confident communicator with strong written, verbal and IT skills (Excel essential)
  • Comfortable leading others and working across teams
Desirable:
  • Relevant finance qualification (ACCA, ACA, CIMA – part-qualified or qualified by experience)
  • Experience using Sage Line 50 and/or Progress Plus
