We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established contractor for an experienced Planner to join their project delivery team based in Exeter.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Planner from a construction, civil engineering, utilities or infrastructure background to join a growing business with a strong pipeline of work and the opportunity to secure a permanent position.
The RoleAs Planner, you'll be responsible for developing, managing and monitoring project programmes to ensure successful delivery from pre-construction through to completion.
Working closely with project managers, commercial teams, subcontractors and clients, you'll play a key role in supporting programme performance, identifying risks and ensuring projects are delivered safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop detailed project programmes from tender stage through to completion.
  • Monitor progress against agreed programmes and key milestones.
  • Identify potential delays, risks and opportunities.
  • Work closely with project teams to develop mitigation strategies.
  • Prepare progress updates and programme reports.
  • Support tender submissions and pre-construction planning.
  • Liaise with clients, subcontractors and internal stakeholders.
  • Assist with project forecasting and programme reviews.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual requirements.
About YouWe're looking for an experienced Planner with a strong understanding of project delivery within the construction or infrastructure sectors.
Ideally you'll have:
  • Previous experience as a Planner or Project Planner.
  • Experience within construction, civil engineering, utilities, infrastructure, energy or a related sector.
  • Strong understanding of project planning principles and methodologies.
  • Experience using planning software such as Primavera P6 or Asta Powerproject.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, programmes and project documentation.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Good commercial awareness and attention to detail.
