We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established contractor for an experienced Planner to join their project delivery team based in Exeter.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Planner from a construction, civil engineering, utilities or infrastructure background to join a growing business with a strong pipeline of work and the opportunity to secure a permanent position.
The RoleAs Planner, you'll be responsible for developing, managing and monitoring project programmes to ensure successful delivery from pre-construction through to completion.
Working closely with project managers, commercial teams, subcontractors and clients, you'll play a key role in supporting programme performance, identifying risks and ensuring projects are delivered safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed project programmes from tender stage through to completion.
- Monitor progress against agreed programmes and key milestones.
- Identify potential delays, risks and opportunities.
- Work closely with project teams to develop mitigation strategies.
- Prepare progress updates and programme reports.
- Support tender submissions and pre-construction planning.
- Liaise with clients, subcontractors and internal stakeholders.
- Assist with project forecasting and programme reviews.
- Ensure compliance with contractual requirements.
Ideally you'll have:
- Previous experience as a Planner or Project Planner.
- Experience within construction, civil engineering, utilities, infrastructure, energy or a related sector.
- Strong understanding of project planning principles and methodologies.
- Experience using planning software such as Primavera P6 or Asta Powerproject.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, programmes and project documentation.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Good commercial awareness and attention to detail.
- Salary of £40,000–£55,000 DOE
