We’re supporting the growth of a specialist engineering team developing high-performance technology used in extreme operating environments. This is a newly created role, designed to strengthen materials capability within a multidisciplinary engineering team working on highly regulated, safety-critical products.
You’ll provide hands-on and theoretical expertise across materials used in demanding thermal, mechanical and corrosive conditions. This role requires someone who understands both the make-up of materials and the practical implications of manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities
- Support material selection for high temperature and harsh environment applications
- Advise engineers on material properties, performance and limitations
- Assess the effects of manufacturing processes
- Ensure material properties are maintained through production processes
- Support design-for-manufacture activities and production readiness
- Evaluate physical property testing methods and interpret results
- Work alongside design and manufacturing engineers to preserve material strength
- Support root cause investigations relating to material performance
- Contribute to new product development and continuous improvement initiatives
Mechanical Engineer
Requirements:
- Experience working with metals and/or ceramics in engineering applications
- Understanding of materials in extreme thermal environments
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and their effect on material properties
- Experience with physical property testing and validation
- Ability to bridge materials science and practical engineering application
- Strong communication skills with cross-functional engineering teams
