Are you a Design Engineer with experience in composite design, looking to work on innovative components and moulds for the aerospace, defence, automotive, motorsport and space industries?
I’m working with a leading UK manufacturer specialising in advanced carbon fibre tooling and composite components, supplying industries including aerospace, defence, automotive, motorsport and space.
Following recent investment and a new phase of growth, they’re looking for a talented Design Engineer to join their skilled design team and play a key role in developing innovative tooling solutions.

I’m working with a leading UK manufacturer specialising in advanced carbon fibre tooling and composite components, supplying industries including aerospace, defence, automotive, motorsport and space.
Following recent investment and a new phase of growth, they’re looking for a talented Design Engineer to join their skilled design team and play a key role in developing innovative tooling solutions.
🔧 What will you be doing?
- Designing moulds, tooling, jigs and fixtures using CATIA V5.
- Creating detailed engineering drawings, including GD&T, for manufacture.
- Developing concept designs to support quotations and new projects.
- Working closely with engineering and production teams to ensure designs meet manufacturing requirements.
- Providing technical support throughout manufacturing and inspection processes.
- Liaising with customers and colleagues on design concepts, specifications and project timescales.
✅ What are we looking for?
- Strong CATIA V5 experience, including at least 2 years using the Generative Shape Design workbench for surfacing.
- A good understanding of carbon fibre and composite manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of CNC machining and tooling production techniques.
- Understanding of GD&T, engineering drawings and manufacturing processes.
- Good communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects.
⭐ Desirable experience:
- CATIA V5 Composites Module or equivalent ply creation software.
- Hands-on experience with composite manufacturing and press tooling.
- Knowledge of PLM systems and ISO 9001 / AS9100 standards.
