Our client are a leading manufacturer of precision parts for the aerospace industry. They are looking to add a dynamic Mechanically biased Design Engineer to their team on a permanent basis. This would be a great fit for a meticulous individual who enjoys challenge and variety in their day to day.

Responsibilities of the Position
- To support the Operations Director to meet overall business objectives.
- To assist with the identification, development and implementation of process improvements.
- To ensure that all work meets customer (internal and external) expectations on delivery and quality.
- To be flexible and adaptable.
Key Area Responsibilities
- Design forgings to meet customer requirements within company capabilities.
- Design tool and die requirements to customer requirements.
- Ensure manufacturing processes meet agreed standards.
- Maintain IT record systems within department.
- Make necessary modifications to meet customer requirements.
- Produce all necessary drawings and documentation to effectively allow customer components, tools and dies to be manufactured.
- Recommend and implement system modifications as required.
- Assemble working manuals/records to allow forging operations to be carried out. This to include Forge Instruction Sheets etc.
- Responsible for all design work within Lincoln Plant.
- Responsible for design of new types of tooling to meet complex forging and quality standards.
- Upgrade and widen scope of computer systems within engineering department.
- Provide shop-floor support as required.
- Carry out any other duties as directed by the management team.
- At least 3 years’ experience of working within a relevant design role gained in an Engineering environment.
- Degree qualified in Mechanical or Aerospace or Design Engineering.
- Familiarity with the forging ability of metals and basic metallurgy.
- Strong working knowledge of 3D CAD Software (preferably Creo) and Forge Simulation.
- Excellent IT skills to include Mini Tab.
- Monday to Thursday 8am to 4.30pm
- Friday - 8am to 3.30pm
