Following continued growth and investment, our client is seeking a motivated and reliable Material Handler – Plastics to join their Operations team.
 
You will be responsible for ensuring the efficient supply and management of raw polymer materials throughout the manufacturing process, supporting production requirements, maintaining high housekeeping standards, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and quality procedures.

Material Handler – Plastics
Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure production areas comply with all Health & Safety requirements.
  • Maintain excellent housekeeping standards and support 5S activities throughout the production area.
  • Issue raw polymer materials and bought-out parts (BOP) to production as required.
  • Clean hoppers and dryers safely and efficiently.
  • Ensure material changes are completed in line with the production plan.
  • Support production by pre-drying materials as required.
  • Verify dryers are correctly set up and all relevant information is accurately recorded, including temperature, batch numbers, and drying times.
  • Correctly identify and process non-conforming products/materials and return them to designated areas.
  • Support stock counts of raw materials and BOP within production areas and storage locations.
  • Monitor material availability and escalate any issues that could impact production.
 
 
Material Handler – Plastics
Essential Experience / Skills / Qualifications
  • Previous experience in manufacturing, production, warehouse, or materials handling environment.
  • Previous experience within plastics manufacturing, injection moulding, or polymer handling
  • Understanding of Health & Safety requirements within a manufacturing setting
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Physically fit and capable of carrying out manual handling activities.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
 
Desirable Experience / Skills
  • Counterbalance or Reach Forklift licence (if applicable).
