Role Details – Manufacturing Engineer
Primary Purpose: To work in collaboration with sales, production and quality teams to quote for new sales enquiries for complex machined components, generate CadCam programmes for these components and improve the quality, speed and efficiency of the manufacturing process and product. Using engineering principles, technology and computer aided software to design, plan and analyse production methods and systems. To monitor and evaluate the operations, identify and eliminate waste and to implement solutions and innovations.

Key Responsibilities
- Working from Customer drawings and models to produce detailed quotations to the company standard format, coupled with generating relevant programs for a variety of CNC Machine Tools, using a CAM package (Fusion360)
- 3 Axis Vertical and Horizontal Milling
- 5 Axis Milling
- Matsuura / Haas UMC 5 Axis
- Liaising with customers on all levels to ensure the information received is correct and that the quote they receive is for the right product for their project. Supplying quotations for services; compiling and submitting technical information where necessary.
- Create full routing information including labour and material costing etc for both Machined and Sheet metal components.
- To plan production methods for parts requiring production engineering including the completion of process routing sheets.

- General Processing and quality concerns
- Root Cause Analysis
- Generation and storage of Stage and Fixture drawing using a CAD package (AutoCAD/Inventor).
- Decide upon most efficient method of manufacture and adjust routings where required – advising sales of any cost implications.
- Liaise with customers to rectify documentation issues or to implement design changes.
- Keep up to date with engineering advancements in the wider fields and where possible discuss and implement with management teams.
- Confirm correct materials being used on BOM & analyse and improve material usage

Person Specification
- Relevant Engineering Qualification.
- Understanding of machining (Milling/Turning) and materials
- Understanding of sheet metal and fabrication (Desirable)
- Experience with CAD software.
- CNC programming using CAM (Preferably Fusion 360)
- Excellent literacy, numeracy and ICT skills (MS Office – Word & Excel)
- Proven experience in the engineering field.
- Superb analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to make decisions under pressure.
- Great attention to detail and organizational skills.
