Our client, a well-established engineering company, is seeking a Junior Project Engineer (SCADA) to join their team in Hemel Hempstead. The successful candidate will support the delivery of SCADA and control system projects, gaining hands-on experience across the full project lifecycle.

Junior Project Engineer (SCADA)

Job Description

• Assist in the design and development of SCADA and control systems
• Support the creation and organisation of technical documentation and system layouts
• Work alongside senior engineers on project delivery from concept through to commissioning
• Assist with data collection, site surveys, and asset information management
• Support PLC/SCADA configuration, testing, and system integration activities
• Liaise with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients to ensure project requirements are met
• Help ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget
• Maintain accurate project records with a strong focus on data quality and detail
• Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering and documentation processes

Junior Project Engineer (SCADA)

Essential Experience / Skills / Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical, Control & Instrumentation, Automation, or Systems Engineering
• Strong ability to organise and manage technical information
• High attention to detail and data accuracy
• Good written communication skills
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and diagramming tools
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Valid UK driving licence

Desirable

• Awareness of SCADA or industrial control systems
• Familiarity with site surveys and asset data collection
• Basic understanding of PLCs, RTUs, and control networks
• Exposure to URS or FEED-stage engineering
