Key Responsibilities:
Your day-to-day duties will be varied and hands-on, including:
- Installing heat pump systems in individual residential properties, ensuring all components are correctly fitted and comply with industry regulations.
- Fitting Heat Interface Units (HIUs) and connecting them to centralised heating systems.
- Pipefitting for heating, cooling, and hot water distribution systems, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
- Performing fusion weld pipework to create durable, leak-proof connections.
- Installing lagging and insulation on pipework and equipment.
- Carrying out basic electrical work related to heat pump systems, such as wiring and connecting control panels.
- Fault finding and problem-solving to diagnose and resolve any operational issues.
- Completing Quality Control checks to ensure all work meets the highest industry and customer standards.
The ideal candidate will be a methodical self-starter, keen to take ownership of tasks and capable of working both autonomously and as part of a close-knit team.
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
- A relevant Engineering or Plumbing Qualification (NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent).
- Demonstrable professional experience in plumbing and/or pipefitting.
- Strong technical knowledge of hydraulic systems, including flow and pressure.
- A solid understanding of regulations relating to hot water systems (e.g., Building Regulations Part G).
- A meticulous eye for detail, with the ability to error-check your own work and maintain high standards.
- Background in the renewable energy, infrastructure, or construction industry.
- Experience with commercial Pre-Insulated Pipe (PIP) installations.
- Experience in producing and completing inspection reports for QA/QC purposes.
