Responsibilities will include: 
  
  • Lead and mentor a team of naval architects, providing technical guidance and assuring the output of the team in the delivery of our products 
  • Create an efficient department built on industry-leading techniques and data-driven solutions to minimize the time from problem to product 
  • Develop and take responsibility for the naval architecture roadmap for future projects
  • Oversee project planning, budgeting, and resource allocation 
  • Confidently interface with internal and external customers to understand requirements and provide technical expertise 
  • Maintain and champion excellent verbal and written communication with customers, stakeholders, and internal teams 
  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in responding to changing project requirements and timelines 
  • Manage change effectively to ensure minimal disruption to project delivery and team dynamics 

Qualifications and Experience:
  • Degree-qualified in Naval Architecture, Ship Science, Marine Engineering or a related field 
  • Proven track record in designing advanced maritime platforms, preferably including subsurface vessels 
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with a passion for personal development of others 
  • Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., Rhino, Inventor, Star-CCM+, Paramarine, Maxsurf) 
  • Familiarity with Atlassian suite is beneficial 
  • Professional registration (chartership) with an appropriate institution desirable
