Responsibilities will include:
- Lead and mentor a team of naval architects, providing technical guidance and assuring the output of the team in the delivery of our products
- Create an efficient department built on industry-leading techniques and data-driven solutions to minimize the time from problem to product
- Develop and take responsibility for the naval architecture roadmap for future projects
- Oversee project planning, budgeting, and resource allocation
- Confidently interface with internal and external customers to understand requirements and provide technical expertise
- Maintain and champion excellent verbal and written communication with customers, stakeholders, and internal teams
- Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in responding to changing project requirements and timelines
- Manage change effectively to ensure minimal disruption to project delivery and team dynamics
Qualifications and Experience:
- Degree-qualified in Naval Architecture, Ship Science, Marine Engineering or a related field
- Proven track record in designing advanced maritime platforms, preferably including subsurface vessels
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with a passion for personal development of others
- Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., Rhino, Inventor, Star-CCM+, Paramarine, Maxsurf)
- Familiarity with Atlassian suite is beneficial
- Professional registration (chartership) with an appropriate institution desirable
