We are working with a well-established and highly respected business within the standby power and energy sector. With over 40 years of industry experience, they specialise in the supply, installation, hire, and maintenance of critical power systems including generators, CHP units, UPS systems, and associated switchgear.
Due to continued growth, they are now looking to recruit a Maintenance Engineer – Generators to join their field-based engineering team across the Midlands.

The Role This is a field-based role covering the Midlands and surrounding areas, with occasional UK-wide travel. You’ll be responsible for servicing and maintaining generators ranging from 10kVA to 2MVA, working across a mix of planned maintenance, remedial work, and emergency breakdown response.
You’ll also be part of an on-call rota, supporting customers with critical power needs outside of standard working hours.

Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine servicing on a wide range of generator systems
- Diagnose faults and carry out repairs across electrical and mechanical components
- Respond to breakdowns as the first engineer on site
- Complete remedial works and system upgrades where required
- Work with generator control systems (e.g. ComAp / Deep Sea Electronics)
- Use diagnostic software such as ComAp PC Suite / DSE Configuration Suite
- Ensure all work is completed in line with health & safety and company standards
- Accurately complete service reports and documentation
- Deliver a high level of customer service on-site
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Generator Engineer or similar role
- Strong background in LV power generation and electrical systems
- Experience working on diesel generators / standby power systems
- Knowledge of control systems such as ComAp or Deep Sea Electronics (DSE)
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Comfortable working independently in a field-based role
- Flexible approach to travel, overtime, and occasional working away
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Full UK driving licence
