About the Company

This role sits within the aftermarket division, supporting upgrades and optimisation projects for an established client base.

The Role

We’re looking for a Technical Engineer – Applications / Design to manage HVAC upgrade projects from site survey through to technical design. You’ll work closely with customers and internal Project Managers to assess requirements, propose solutions, and deliver high-quality designs.

This is a hybrid role, split roughly 50/50 between site visits and home/office-based design work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out site surveys, assessing existing HVAC systems and customer requirements
  • Measure and analyse airflows and pressures on AHUs
  • Design and upgrade AHUs (EC fan conversions), coils, CHW, LPHW and DX systems
  • Produce clear 2D AutoCAD drawings for casework, fan, and coil modifications
  • Provide technical input and support throughout the project lifecycle
  • Liaise with Project Managers, design teams, suppliers, and customers
  • Support energy efficiency and system optimisation initiatives

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience with HVAC / ventilation systems
  • Strong understanding of airflow, pressures and AHU operation
  • 2D AutoCAD design experience (3D not required)
  • Confident, customer-facing and technically strong
  • Computer literate with clear written and verbal communication
  • Willing to travel across the UK (occasional overnight stays, typically 1–2 nights)

Package & Benefits

  • £32k–£40k salary
  • Overtime available (£5k–£10k p.a.)
  • 40-hour week (8:30am–4:30pm), enhanced overtime rates
  • Hybrid company car
  • Paid travel time + £42.50 overnight allowance
  • Long-term role replacing a retiring engineer, with strong job security

If you’re an HVAC Technical Engineer looking for a varied, hands-on role with a respected UK manufacturer, this is a great opportunity to get involved.
