We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established contractor for an experienced Estimator to join their growing pre-construction team based in Exeter.
This is an excellent opportunity for an Estimator from any construction, civil engineering, utilities or infrastructure background to join a business with a strong pipeline of work and the opportunity to secure a permanent position.
The RoleAs Estimator, you'll play a key role in the tendering process, preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for a range of projects. Working closely with the commercial and operational teams, you'll help secure new business while ensuring tenders are commercially viable and delivered to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and tender submissions.
- Review drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
- Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations.
- Identify project risks, opportunities and value engineering options.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Assist with pricing variations and commercial proposals.
- Ensure estimates are completed accurately and submitted within deadlines.
- Support the handover of successful tenders to the delivery team.
Ideally you'll have:
- Previous experience as an Estimator or Assistant Estimator.
- Experience within construction, civil engineering, utilities, infrastructure, M&E or a related sector.
- Strong understanding of estimating principles and cost planning.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent numerical, analytical and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and estimating software.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Salary of £45,000–£60,000 DOE
