Responsibilities:
System Design and Integration:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, software, and systems engineers, to integrate electrical systems into the overall design.
- Design and layout electrical systems, encompassing power distribution, wiring harnesses, connectors, control modules, and charging systems.
- Ensure all electrical designs comply with industry standards and safety regulations.
Prototyping and Testing:
- Work closely with testing teams to conduct functional, performance, and safety tests on electrical systems.
- Diagnose and resolve any issues that arise during testing phases.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Develop detailed documentation, including schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical reports related to electrical design.
- Effectively communicate design concepts and findings to team members, management, and stakeholders.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Degree in Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering, or a minimum of 5 years of industry experience with an apprenticeship qualification.
- Proficiency in CAD software for electrical design (e.g., AutoCAD or similar).
- Experience with 3D CAD systems (e.g., Inventor) is advantageous but not essential.
- Familiarity with CAN Bus systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Experience in preparing and submitting detailed design specifications for high-value projects.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and committed to excellence.
- Willingness to embrace innovation and creativity; lateral thinking is encouraged.
- Experience in testing and commissioning electrical systems.
Working Hours:
- Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm, or flexibility such as 7.30am – 4pm
- Site based work, can work all 40 hours in 4 days on site and have a long weekend
- No remote working
