Are you an Electrical Assembly Technician looking for a new role? Our client specialises in nuclear measurement and detection systems used across multiple industries.

The successful candidate will be an experienced Electrical Assembly Technician, taking a hands‑on role in assembling high‑integrity nuclear and high‑temperature systems deployed worldwide. You will work with precision wiring, mechanical assembly, and detailed technical documentation, contributing directly to the safe delivery of mission‑critical equipment.

Electrical Assembly Technician

Role responsibilities

  • Perform soldering, crimping, looming, PCB assembly, and complex rack wiring (power, video, and data cabling)
  • Read and interpret wiring schematics, layouts, and technical documentation
  • Assemble and wire nuclear system racks to project drawings and company standards
  • Carry out mechanical fitting and basic machining tasks
  • Identify and correctly handle components and materials used in system builds
  • Meet or exceed manufacturing and project timelines
  • Support project managers, production control, and engineering teams by providing clear feedback on manufacturing issues
  • When the system assembly workload is low, support the wiring department in accordance with the Wire Person role profile.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives as necessary

Electrical Assembly Technician

Skills

  • Industrial training in wiring principles and techniques (soldering, crimping, looming, PCB assembly)
  • Good level of experience in an industrial wiring or electro‑mechanical assembly environment
  • Strong understanding of wiring schematics and technical drawings
  • Fully PC literate with strong communication skills
  • Experience with mechanical assembly and basic machining
  • Confident, self‑motivated, and able to work both independently and as part of a close‑knit team
