Job Description – Experienced Composite Laminator Location West Milands areas + Hertford

About the Role We are a leading UK manufacturer of advanced composite components supplying the motorsport, automotive, and aerospace industries. As part of our continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Composite Laminator to join our expanding team.

Working within a fast-paced, quality-driven manufacturing environment, you will be responsible for producing high-quality composite components using advanced pre-preg carbon, glass, and Kevlar materials. The successful candidate will have experience working to demanding industry standards and be comfortable producing complex Class A components while meeting tight production deadlines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare moulds and patterns for production.

  • Laminate composite components in accordance with engineering drawings, lay-up manuals, and work instructions.

  • Lay up complex carbon fibre, glass fibre, and Kevlar composite components using pre-preg materials.

  • Manufacture high-quality Class A composite components to exacting standards.

  • Load and unload autoclaves and carry out component breakout activities.

  • Manage pre-preg materials in accordance with manufacturing procedures.

  • Ensure all components meet strict dimensional and cosmetic tolerances required for motorsport, automotive, and aerospace applications.

  • Work efficiently to production schedules while maintaining quality standards.

  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and communicate effectively across departments.

Candidate Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years' composite laminating experience, ideally gained within Formula 1, motorsport, aerospace, automotive, or a Tier 1 supplier.

  • Strong experience working with pre-preg carbon fibre composite materials.

  • Experience producing Class A composite components.

  • Ability to laminate a wide variety of complex composite parts.

  • Experience working with carbon fibre, glass fibre, and Kevlar materials.

  • Experience loading and unloading autoclaves.

  • Knowledge of composite manufacturing processes and quality standards.

  • Experience with Mosite bag manufacture is desirable but not essential.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

  • IT literate.

  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Flexible and willing to work shift patterns, including nights and weekends where required.

Working Hours Shift patterns may include:

  • Days

  • Nights (e.g. Monday–Thursday, 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM)

  • Weekend shifts (e.g. Friday–Sunday, 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM)

  • Continental shift (6am-6pm) also available.
