We are recruiting on behalf of a leading manufacturing business for an experienced Cost Accountant to join their Finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially minded accountant who enjoys working closely with operations and making a real impact on business performance.

Reporting directly to the Head of Finance, you’ll be a key finance contact for three operational sites, supporting job costing, stock reporting, fixed assets, and overhead allocation. While the role is based in Llay, there will be regular travel to other UK company sites.

Job Description

• Build and maintain product standard costs within SAP
• Monitor actual vs standard costs, investigating and reporting variances
• Prepare weekly and monthly product profitability reports
• Optimise cost accounting processes including job costing and margin analysis
• Assist with machine hourly rate calculations
• Manage the capex process and fixed asset register
• Support monthly management accounts preparation
• Prepare and monitor stock provisions
• Lead and support stock takes, perpetual counts, and variance investigations
• Prepare year-end audit schedules
• Support budgeting and forecasting activities
• Drive process improvements across data, controls, and reporting
• Work closely with production and IT teams across multiple sites

Cost Accountant
Essential Qualifications, Skills & Experience

• Proven experience in a multi-site manufacturing environment

• Strong costing and management accounting background
• CIMA qualified (or equivalent)
• 3–4 years’ experience in a Cost Accountant role
• SAP experience
• A proactive mindset with a focus on process improvement
