The Opportunity

Are you an experienced CNC Machinist / Programmer looking to work on complex, high-precision aerospace components?

We are recruiting for a skilled CNC Machinist / Programmer to join a leading aerospace manufacturing business based in Castle Donington. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a highly skilled machine shop, manufacturing precision components for the aerospace industry while working with the latest multi-axis CNC technology.

You'll be involved in both new product introduction (NPI) and established production programmes, working closely with Engineering and Manufacturing teams to deliver high-quality components in a fast-paced, quality-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set, operate and program 5-axis CNC milling machines.
  • Manufacture complex, high-precision aerospace components to tight tolerances.
  • Select appropriate tooling, cutting strategies, feeds and speeds to maximise efficiency.
  • Interpret complex engineering drawings and GD&T.
  • Carry out in-process inspections using precision measuring equipment.
  • Work closely with Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering to support NPI projects.
  • Optimise machining processes to improve cycle times and productivity.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across the machine shop.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and TPM activities.
  • Maintain high standards of quality, housekeeping and 5S.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with company procedures.
What We're Looking For
  • Previous experience as a CNC Machinist / Programmer within aerospace, motorsport or another precision engineering environment.
  • Strong experience with 5-axis CNC milling machines.
  • Knowledge of CNC programming using ISO or Fanuc controls.
  • Ability to read complex engineering drawings and understand GD&T.
  • Experience machining high-performance or exotic materials.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing right-first-time components.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Able to work independently while contributing effectively within a team.
