You'll be involved in both new product introduction (NPI) and established production programmes, working closely with Engineering and Manufacturing teams to deliver high-quality components in a fast-paced, quality-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Set, operate and program 5-axis CNC milling machines.
- Manufacture complex, high-precision aerospace components to tight tolerances.
- Select appropriate tooling, cutting strategies, feeds and speeds to maximise efficiency.
- Interpret complex engineering drawings and GD&T.
- Carry out in-process inspections using precision measuring equipment.
- Work closely with Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering to support NPI projects.
- Optimise machining processes to improve cycle times and productivity.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across the machine shop.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and TPM activities.
- Maintain high standards of quality, housekeeping and 5S.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with company procedures.
- Previous experience as a CNC Machinist / Programmer within aerospace, motorsport or another precision engineering environment.
- Strong experience with 5-axis CNC milling machines.
- Knowledge of CNC programming using ISO or Fanuc controls.
- Ability to read complex engineering drawings and understand GD&T.
- Experience machining high-performance or exotic materials.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing right-first-time components.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a continuous improvement mindset.
- Able to work independently while contributing effectively within a team.
