Following continued growth and investment, our client is seeking an experienced CMM Inspector to join their Quality team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a metrology professional with strong CMM programming and inspection experience to join a forward-thinking manufacturing business committed to quality, precision, and continuous improvement.


Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and program CMM equipment to inspect and measure manufactured components.

  • Create, maintain, and optimise measurement routines for goods-in, in-process, and final inspection activities.

  • Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T requirements.

  • Analyse measurement data and generate detailed dimensional inspection reports.

  • Perform routine maintenance and calibration of CMM equipment.

  • Ensure repeatability and reproducibility (R&R) of measurement systems.

  • Raise and manage non-conformance reports (NCRs) where products or processes do not meet specification.

  • Support Engineering and Production Engineering with new product introduction (NPI) activities.

  • Collaborate with production, engineering, customers, and suppliers to resolve quality issues.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality, accuracy, and efficiency.

  • Maintain accurate inspection records and ensure good housekeeping standards within inspection areas.


Essential Experience / Skills / Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a CMM Operator / CMM Inspector within a manufacturing environment.

  • Experience with both manual and CNC CMM systems.

  • Mitutoyo and/or Aberlink experience advantageous.

  • Strong understanding of GD&T and engineering drawings.

  • Fully competent using inspection equipment including micrometers, verniers, thread gauges, shadow graphs, and hardness testing equipment.

  • Experience of MSA and GR&R methodologies.

  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving ability.

  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

  • Good understanding of quality systems, with ISO 9001 experience desirable.


Desirable Experience / Skills
  • Experience supporting NPI and engineering projects.

  • Experience liaising directly with customers and suppliers on metrology and inspection matters.

  • Knowledge of PMI, Ferritescope, Copper Sulphate testing, and gauge management.

  • Experience within a precision engineering or high-specification manufacturing environment.
