CHP Maintenance Engineer
A long-established, engineering-led business operating in the standby power and energy efficiency sector is seeking a CHP Maintenance Engineer to join their technical support team. With over 40 years of industry presence and a strong reputation for delivering critical power solutions, the company continues to invest in long-term talent and staff development across the UK. This is a field-based role ideal for a skilled engineer with strong mechanical and electrical knowledge, and a background in CHP systems.
CHP Maintenance Engineer
Responsibilities:
  • Travel to customer sites across the UK to perform routine servicing and first-response breakdowns on CHP units ranging from 30kW to 500kW.
  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance work, including occasional overnight stays depending on site location.
  • Provide detailed site reports, highlighting necessary actions and opportunities for improvement.
  • Liaise with customers and internal teams to ensure clear communication and effective service delivery.
  • Assist with internal and customer training where required, promoting safe and effective use of CHP equipment.
  • Maintain high standards of health & safety, including completion of site-specific risk assessments.
  • Represent the company as a brand ambassador, upholding professionalism and technical expertise.
  • Collaborate closely with the wider service and technical support teams to solve complex issues.
CHP Maintenance Engineer
Requirements:
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a CHP service engineer or in a similar role within power generation or building services.
  • Practical experience with LTHW systems, including pumps, inverter drives, flow rates, delta T, and BMS controls.
  • Solid understanding of LV electrical systems, generation equipment, and control panels.
  • Familiarity with ComAp, TEM, TPEM, and remote monitoring tools such as Web Supervisor and InteliMonitor.
  • Ability to work independently and problem-solve in the field using advanced diagnostic tools.
  • Excellent customer-facing and communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel extensively and stay away from home when required.
