CHP Service Engineer
A well-established and rapidly growing energy management consultancy is expanding its technical team to support increasing demand across its UK client base. With operations spanning from the UK to Australia and partnerships with all major energy suppliers, the company has managed over 2TWh of energy and works with more than 42,000 supply points globally.
The business is known for delivering measurable cost savings and carbon reductions through innovative energy solutions — and is now seeking an experienced CHP (Combined Heat and Power) Service Engineer to help support and maintain its growing fleet of micro-CHP units.
This is a key role for a hands-on engineer looking to work within a forward-thinking consultancy that values innovation, sustainability, and professional growth.
CHP Service Engineer Responsibilities:
  • Manage and maintain a small fleet of micro CHP units (20–50kW) across the West Midlands region.
  • Conduct scheduled maintenance, fault diagnosis, and reactive repairs to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for CHP systems both on-site and remotely.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, ensuring clear updates and excellent service delivery.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
  • Maintain compliance with Gas Safe regulations and relevant safety standards.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development as new technologies and systems are introduced.
CHP Service Engineer Requirements:
  • Proven experience in CHP maintenance, repair, and field service (micro or small-scale units preferred).
  • Gas Safe certification (covering turbines and meters).
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
  • Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working in a hybrid environment (field-based with remote flexibility).
  • Full UK driving licence.
CHP Service Engineer Benefits:
  • £50,000 – £60,000 salary (depending on experience).
  • Company van and tools provided.
  • 25 days’ holiday plus bank holidays.
  • Flexible working arrangements.
  • Pension scheme.
If you’re a technically capable engineer with experience in CHP systems — and you’re looking to join a forward-thinking business making a real impact in energy efficiency and sustainability — we’d love to hear from you.
