A well-established and growing power solutions business specialising in low-carbon combined heat and power (CHP) systems is seeking a CHP / Engine Field Service Engineer to join its service team. The role involves supporting CHP and engine-driven power systems across the region.
This opportunity would suit an engineer from a CHP, engine, generator, or power generation background, including those looking to transition into the CHP sector. It is a field-based position offering a mix of planned maintenance, reactive fault finding, and technical support, supported by a knowledgeable and experienced engineering team.

Responsibilities:
- Travel to customer sites to carry out routine servicing and first-response breakdowns on CHP and engine-based power systems
- Perform a mix of planned and reactive maintenance, including diagnostics and fault rectification
- Produce clear and detailed service reports, identifying faults, remedial actions, and improvement opportunities
- Liaise with customers and internal teams to ensure smooth, professional service delivery
- Provide technical support to colleagues and contribute to the wider engineering function
- Support internal and customer training activities where required
- Maintain high health & safety standards, including completion of risk assessments and method statements
- Act as a professional representative of the business on customer sites
- Background as a CHP Engineer, Engine Engineer, Generator Engineer, or in a related mechanical / electrical role
- Strong practical understanding of engine-driven systems with transferable skills into CHP
- Good mechanical and electrical fault-finding capability
- Experience with control systems or engine management software (training provided if required)
- Ability to work independently in the field while maintaining clear communication with office-based teams
- Positive, proactive attitude with strong customer-facing skills
- Willingness to travel to customer sites and occasionally stay away from home
- Flexible salary, depending on experience
- £10 per day lunch allowance
