The business designs and manufactures specialist products for a niche, highly profitable industry, supplying customers across the UK and international markets. Working as part of the purchasing team, you will take responsibility for a portfolio of direct materials and suppliers, supporting production while identifying opportunities around cost, quality, lead times and supplier performance.
The role will involve:
You will ideally have previous purchasing or procurement experience within a manufacturing, engineering or similarly technical environment.
Experience purchasing engineering components.
You'll need to be commercially minded, comfortable negotiating with suppliers and confident working with internal stakeholders.

The role will involve:
- Managing a portfolio of suppliers across a range of direct materials and manufactured components.
- Negotiating pricing, commercial terms and supply agreements with new and existing suppliers.
- Running RFQs and supporting supplier selection and sourcing projects.
- Monitoring supplier performance across cost, quality and delivery.
- Working closely with Engineering, Production, Planning and Quality teams.
- Identifying cost-saving and value-engineering opportunities.
- Supporting new product introduction and changes to existing products.
- Managing supply risks and developing alternative sources where required.
- Building strong, long-term relationships with key suppliers.
