Key Responsibilities
  • Procurement & Sourcing: Source and purchase goods and services to meet operational and business needs, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality. Act as a commodity lead for assigned group contracts. Managing a purchasing spend, excluding intercompany, of £20M. Identify Pipeline savings of 2% per quarter, or in line with plant objectives
  • Stakeholder Management: Act as a commercial subject matter expert for the local management team and attend reviews to provide advice and support to facilitate tactical and strategic decisions. Liaise with accounts payable team to identify and resolve any issues surrounding invoice/payment queries.
  • Supplier Management: Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships, track performance, and resolve any delivery or service issues to support production efficiency. Actively seek new sources of supply to meet existing and future material and capital purchases.
  • Contracting & Services: Support the procurement of indirect goods and facility services (e.g., vending, security, cleaning, waste) in line with company policies. Negotiate binding contracts to support capital equipment purchases. Ensure contract terms are in place and liaise with legal counsel where required. Maintain contract register of all existing contracts and ensure timely planning of contracts and lease/hire renewals.
  • CAPEX & Large Indirect Business Projects: Assist in the procurement and contracting of capital expenditure (CAPEX) projects and large-scale indirect business initiatives, ensuring cost efficiency and alignment with project objectives Ensure all enquires and contracts are issued and agree in accordance with PCC Guidelines.
  • Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all purchasing activities comply with company policies, contractual obligations, and regulatory requirements. Enforce the PCC code of conduct in all supplier relationships. Review supplier terms and conditions to identify and resolve areas of conflict.
  • Cost & Efficiency Optimisation: Identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements to enhance the procurement function
Additional Responsibilities
  • Maintain departmental metrics – Savings, Stock out, Stock accuracy, Orders processed, VC forecast and delivery performance.
  • Ensure payment terms for suppliers are inline with standard policy or gain approval for any non-standard requests.
  • Raise sales orders as required for machinery, scrap metals and any obsolete equipment where instructed by the business.
  • Identification of non-value-added activities and suggest changes to processes to eliminate the waste.
  • Actively investigate and explore the market to identify new suppliers and technology to advance the business.

What We’re Looking For
  • Experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management, preferably in a manufacturing or aerospace environment.
  • Excellent communication skills with a high level of financial awareness.
  • Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
  • Experience handling CAPEX procurement and indirect purchasing projects.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and manage supplier relationships effectively.
  • Proficiency in procurement systems and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
