In partnership with the Farnborough Aerospace Consortium, we recently hosted a charity golf day supporting Aerobility, a charity dedicated to making aviation accessible to individuals with disabilities. Aerobility not only opens the skies to people with disabilities but also educates the aerospace industry on creating a more inclusive future.
Held at Leatherhead Golf Course, the event saw 60 golfers, including FAC members, clients, and customers, tee off at 9:30 AM after enjoying a breakfast of bacon baps and coffee. The sun shone brightly, making it a perfect day for golf on a beautiful course. Players of all skill levels enjoyed the challenge, with the day offering a mix of competition and camaraderie.
After a few hours on the course, the golfers returned for a delicious BBQ, followed by a prize-giving ceremony. Awards were handed out for competitions, alongside raffle prizes and a silent auction of which added extra excitement. The generous contributions of our sponsors ensured plenty of prizes, further enhancing the event's success.
The highlight was raising £4,506.05 for Aerobility. This donation will help Aerobility continue their vital work, ensuring aviation remains accessible to all. We extend our thanks to everyone involved—sponsors, players, and volunteers—for making this event a success. We look forward to building on this year’s achievements and continuing to support Aerobility at future events.
In summary, our charity golf day was more than just a round of golf; it was a celebration of inclusivity and community, united by the goal of making aviation accessible to all.
