What are Mechanical Design Engineer responsibilities?
The primary responsibility of the product design engineers is to create new products and designs and revise existing ones, providing installation support by writing technical operation documentation.
• Producing a variety of system, sub assembly and general arrangement drawings using 2D CAD or 3D Inventor.
• Consider design for manufacturing principles on both new and existing product lines.
• Producing pipe and instrumentation diagrams and BoM’s to support project execution.
• Maintaining technical construction files and liaise with project managers to ensure all issues are closed swiftly.
• Maintaining drawings to the correct issue, ensuring amendments are carried out and managed effectively.
• Identify parts for use on equipment, ensuring parts are selected from the list of approved products where possible.
• Maintain technical file structures and systems to ISO and company standards.
• Provide design support to Manufacturing, R&D and sales.
