We’re looking for a skilled Production Planner on a permanent basis to join a leading wastewater treatment company, who are looking to expand their team due to recent growth.  This is a brand-new role, offering an exciting opportunity to build a production planning process from the ground up. As a Production Planner, you’ll be pivotal in ensuring smooth and efficient production operations, working closely with design, procurement, manufacturing, and logistics teams.

What We Offer

  • Competitive annual salary £35,000-£38,325 + bonus scheme
  • 25 days holiday + 8 Bank Holidays (increasing with service)
  • Pension scheme & Life Assurance
  • Medicash Scheme (24/7 GP, gym discounts)
  • Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) & mental health support
  • Training & development opportunities

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with the Operations Director to develop and implement an end-to-end supply chain and production planning process.
  • Create, manage, and adjust short and long-term production schedules to meet customer demands.
  • Collaborate with design, sales, inventory, and workshop teams to streamline processes, eliminate waste, and improve efficiency.
  • Monitor production progress, identify bottlenecks, and adjust schedules to maintain workflow.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and internal teams to ensure timely availability of materials and components.
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs), analyse production data, and generate reports for management.
  • Ensure all planning decisions comply with health, safety, and quality standards.

Skills/Experience

  • Proven experience in production planning, scheduling, or supply chain coordination within manufacturing, fabrication, or construction.
  • Strong organisational and coordination skills – ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-starter mentality – this role requires building a process from scratch, so initiative and problem-solving are essential.
  • Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (e.g., Dynamics 365) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Knowledge of project management principles is beneficial.
  • Experience in water treatment, construction, or environmental engineering is a plus.
