Manufacturing Engineer – Tool Design

Our client is a global, leading precision component manufacturer primarily operating in the Power generation and Aerospace sector. This site specifically focuses on detailed fabrication work.
Due to continued success and an ever-growing order book, they are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to focus on tool design for sheet metal forming.

Manufacturing Engineer
Responsibilities and Duties

  • Design and development of press tooling for complex geometries
  • NPDI – taking accountability for tooling projects
  • Supporting the manufacturing manager on EHS, Cost and Delivery
  • Develop a Continuous improvement pipeline to improve performance

Essential Skills/Experience/Qualifications Required

  • Design of mould / form / press-based tooling (not piercing & blanking – forming via press tools)
  • Solidworks knowledge / experience
  • Knowledge / previous experience of working in Fabrications (pressing, welding, forming etc.)

Desirable Skills/Experience/Qualifications Required

  • SolidCAM knowledge / experience
  • Knowledge or special processes such as laser cutting, Electro-discharge machining
