Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our Production team in Fareham. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the shop floor with work instructions, implementing lean manufacturing improvements, and setting up Bills of Materials (BoMs) on a new Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system.

  • Develop and provide work instructions for the shop floor to ensure efficient production processes.
  • Identify and implement lean manufacturing improvements to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
  • Set up and maintain Bills of Materials (BoMs) in the new MRP system and act as the SME for Item Masters and BOMs in the MRP system
  • Collaborate with the Production Manager and other team members to optimize manufacturing processes and participate in Makev’s buy decisions
  • Establish defect tracking system and test/QC checks to maintain product quality. Analyze production defect data and metrics to identify areas for improvement.
  • Support the introduction of new products and processes into the production environment.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or engineering role.
  • Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and techniques.
  • Experience with MRP systems and setting up BoMs.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Additional certifications in lean manufacturing or related areas.
  • Experience in the aerospace or automotive industry.
  • Familiarity with CAD software.
